Sorry, this item has sold.

-- authentic mid to late 1920s dress
-- airy black silk georgette, sturdy and semi sheer
-- long "drop waist" style bodice
-- bodice embellished with a beautiful open work design that reminds me of bare branches or vines
-- full length sleeves and collared neckline accented with velvet burnout insets
-- the sleeves have a wonderful drape that does not quite translate on the dress form.
-- cuffs and collar secure with discreet snaps
-- decorative buttons down the bodice front. Upon close inspection there are two different but similar style of button. The original buttons are of an early plastic with rhinestone centers. These are wider in shape with slightly larger centers. The replaced buttons are a very close match from a slightly later era and were replaced by a previous owner.
-- inset drop waist band across the front hips
-- the dress skirt mirrors in reverse the bodice with the open work through the center inset and solid sides finished in pleats
-- the back of the dress is smooth, simple and sheer
-- pull over entry

Dress is remarkably well preserved for its age but not without scars. Most notably are two hand stitched repairs, one near the neckline and the second hidden in the pleats of the skirt. Both of these were repaired in the past and left as found. There are a few holes along the shoulders that have been patched up by me (as pictured) to prevent further strain and a smattering of very tiny pin holes in the sleeves and cuffs that have been left as found or treated with fray check to prevent further expansion. Also of note is a faint discolor in the lower skirt as pictured that I was able to mostly lift but a shadow of this remains.
This dress is structurally sound and wearable but wearable with great care. Garments of this age are naturally delicate and I've done my best to describe and photograph in detail but have many more photos available upon request.
